Hey, y’all! I’m Emily, and I’m happy you’re here.
This space is dedicated to all the things I love: sewing, fashion, and plenty of design projects. I started sewing as a teenager, and while I briefly considered a different career path, I ultimately focused my studies on what I felt called to do: design and fashion. I earned a B.S. in Apparel Design and Product Development from Baylor University, where my senior collection was awarded Best Senior Collection and Most Marketable Collection.
In 2010, I started my own business designing and selling a line of women’s clothing and accessories, Emily Hallman Collection. Hallman was my paternal grandmother’s maiden name, and she was a very talented seamstress. I like to think I inherited a few of her skills, and I use her name in her honor.
For five years, I poured more love, time, and energy into my little business than I thought I was capable of. I made lifelong friends, learned a ton, and matured as a designer. In the end, I decided a life of business ownership wasn’t for me, and I walked away happy and with peace in my heart, better for having had the experience.
I still use the skills I honed in college and business on a daily basis. I love design and sewing, and I always will. There’s a feeling of satisfaction in creating your own clothes, and I take great pride in the process. My style is ladylike, classic, and a little bit whimsical, and I have a weakness for quality fabrics, floral prints, and dresses with pockets. I’m excited to share my knowledge with you and hopefully pass on a few helpful hints to help you in your own design journey.
I live in Texas with my husband Ty, and our two Great Danes, Harrison and Olivia.
